I've never been a fan of Reggae. Although I do listen and appreciate the genre, it doesn't quite hit me that much for me to say that i enjoy it. Then enter my girlfriend June. I remembered around 2 or 3 years ago, she introduced me to New Zealand based bands, which eventually led me to Joe Dukie. From then on, I have become a loyal fan.
Though their sound may have all the usual elements of Reggae, it transcends the usual format with a style that leans more towards Soul. Since then, I have been listening to said bands on a daily basis. And I thank la mia bella June for the introduction. =)
